Privacy policy

Oh Crap respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit or buy from www.ohcrap.com.au, how we use it, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct it.

We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

When you place an order

• Your name, email address and phone number
• Billing and delivery address
• Order details and purchase history
• Payment details, which are processed securely by our payment providers. We don't store full card numbers.

When you visit the site

We automatically collect some information about your device and how you use the site, including your browser type, IP address, time zone, the pages and products you view, the site or search that referred you, and how you interact with the site. We collect this through cookies, log files, pixels and similar technologies.

When you contact us or sign up

If you email us, call us, join our mailing list or enter a competition, we keep the details you give us and any correspondence.

How we use it

We use your personal information to:

• Process and deliver your orders, and send order confirmations and shipping updates
• Respond to your questions and handle returns
• Screen orders for fraud
• Send marketing emails and SMS about our products and offers, if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any message.
• Show you relevant advertising on platforms like Meta and Google
• See which pages and products people look at, so we can make the site easier to use

Who we share it with

We share personal information with service providers who help us run the business. They only receive what they need to do their job, and they are required to protect it. These include:

• Shopify, which powers our online store and processes payments. Read Shopify's privacy policy.
• Payment providers including Shopify Payments (which covers Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay), PayPal and Afterpay, depending on how you pay
• Australia Post and our warehouse, who receive your name, address and contact details to pack and deliver your order
• Klaviyo, which we use to send marketing emails and SMS, and order updates. Read Klaviyo's privacy notice.
• Analytics and advertising platforms including Google Analytics, Google Ads and Meta (Facebook and Instagram), which use cookies and pixels to measure how the site performs and show you relevant ads on their platforms

Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is handled in line with Australian privacy law.

We may also share your information if the law requires it, for example in response to a court order or lawful request, or to protect our rights.

We never sell your personal information.

Cookies and advertising

We use cookies and pixels to make the site work, remember your cart, measure performance and show you relevant ads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work properly if you do.

We don't change how we collect data when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser.

How we protect it

We take reasonable steps to keep your personal information secure, including using secure hosting and payment processing. No system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee the security of information sent over the internet.

How long we keep it

We keep order information for as long as we need it for our records and to meet legal obligations, such as tax reporting. If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so unless we are required to keep it.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask us at any time to see the personal information we hold about you, or to correct or delete it. Email team@ohcrap.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable time.

If you have a complaint about how we have handled your personal information, email us first and we will try to resolve it. If you aren't satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
